Well-known words do not necessarily represent well-understood concepts.

The presentation will reveal:

- where and when air vibrations give rise to audible sound,

- when sound becomes music,

- when and why it excites and gives pleasure.

- and when exactly something that is called is really just noise.

The main focus will lie on live music, but we will also touch on very important issues related to the reproduction of music from vinyl records or digital files.

For demonstration purposes, we will also listen to good recordings.
