Voice and Bass (Hungary)

2026-10-25,  Sunday — 19:00
  • The renowned Hungarian jazz duo “Voice and Bass”—Ágnes Lakatos and Tibor Csuhaj-Barna—will be performing at the Magic of Music Club. Both artists are longtime faculty members at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music and have accumulated vast experience on stage and in creative work.

Ágnes holds a DLA degree and is a prominent jazz vocalist who won a gold medal at “Cantata Mondial,” the world’s largest vocal music festival and competition. Tibor is one of Hungary’s most renowned double bassists; for more than three decades, he has performed in Europe, the U.S, Israel, and Asia, and has composed and arranged music.

This evening will be both a concert and an opportunity to get to know these fascinating performers more closely. Between pieces, Ágnes and Tibor will talk about their creative work, and the program will feature original compositions from the duo’s new album, jazz standards, and songs specially arranged for this ensemble.
