The duo of violinist Barbora Valiukevičiūtė-Žeižytė and pianist Anaël Bonnet (France) stands out for its clarity of expression, refined musical sensibility, and diverse chamber music repertoire. Their collaboration combines Barbora's international concert experience (performances in major concert halls in the United States, Japan, Italy, and throughout Europe) with Anaël's subtle, deeply thoughtful pianism, shaped by a broad field of chamber and ensemble music.
Appreciated for their sonic unity, balance, and intelligent musical dialogue, the duo captivates listeners with their warm, narrative style of performance. Barbora plays a historic Ferdinand Alberti violin (Milan, ca. 1760), whose rich and resonant tone is an integral part of the duo's sound.
We will hear two wonderful sonatas for violin and piano: Richard Strauss' Sonata in E-flat major, Op. 18, full of lyricism, virtuoso passages and characterized by a subtle dialogue between the violin and piano, and Ottorino Respighi's Sonata in B minor, P. 110 – a mature work imbued with Italian emotionality and tension.
