The Magic of music club is proud to collaborate with world-class performers and present unique musical experiences to Lithuanian audiences!
In anticipation of the festive season, the club will present the medieval masterpiece "The Song of the Sibyl," which was added to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2010. This unique song, once sung throughout Europe during Christmas Eve Mass, will be performed by Professor María-Ángeles Ferrer-Forés from Spain, who has an exceptional voice. She is an expert in performing "The Song of the Sibyl" and has been singing this masterpiece continuously for 40 years at St. John's Church in Majorca.
The history of the song is remarkable. After the Council of Trent (1545–1563), the Catholic Church banned its performance due to its alleged pagan origins – the song was not considered sufficiently Christian, even though it had been sung during liturgical dramas for centuries. However, in 1575, this masterpiece was revived in Majorca, where it has survived uninterrupted to this day.
This year, the Magic of Music Club gives the residents and visitors of Vilnius the opportunity to hear this wonderful song, imbued with the spirit of old Europe and the mystery of Christmas, live!

For her pedagogical and cultural activities, professor Ferrer-Forés has received a special UNESCO award as one of Spain's most prominent music professors.
After the performance and a short break, guests will have the opportunity to meet the professor, chat, and share their impressions.
