We invite you to a special evening dedicated to the poetry of Marcelijus Martinaitis - poetry that is sensitive, philosophical and deeply rooted in the Lithuanian landscape of worldviews. The poems of this prominent 20th century Lithuanian poet sound not only like literature, but also like a reflection on life, full of symbols, lyrical tenderness and sometimes smile-inducing irony.
During the evening, actress Ligita Kondrotaitė will convey the creative beauty and depth of thought of Martinaitis' poems in her sensitive and expressive voice. The musical atmosphere will be created by saxophonist Igoris Švedko - his improvisations and melodic interludes will subtly intertwine with the poetry and enhance its emotional sound.
Let yourself be immersed in a dialogue of words and melodies, where every line and note creates a special mood for the evening.
Everyone seems to be talking about "Kukutis". But in fact, not many people know about him - they know two or three poems and that's it. I would like to read all the poems someday, because "Kukutis" is a must-hear - the whole story of that man. I think that a part of Kukutis lives within each one of us. He lives within me certainly, not only a part, but maybe even the whole Kukutis...
This event is part of the Muzikos magijos klubas' series of events "Mosaics of Poetry and Music". From 23 February, on Sunday afternoons at 16:00 in the cosy chamber hall, poetry is read by the most famous Lithuanian readers, actors and poets themselves, with live music accompanying the readings, which are characterised by a variety of interpretations. In addition to poetry readings, we also enjoy sung poetry events.
