Rarely heard on concert stages, but particularly intriguing, the repertoire of the oboe and string trio captivates listeners with its unique sound and subtle combinations of timbres. The ensemble of performers, who have established themselves on the international classical music scene – Luciano Cruz (Portugal, oboe), Deniz Tahberer (Canada/Turkey, violin), Augusta Romaškevičiūtė (Germany, viola) and Onutė Švabauskaitė (cello) – will invite the audience to a sensitive and lively dialogue between these instruments in an intimate chamber music setting.
The concert will center on Benjamin Britten's Fantasy Quartet, composed when the composer was only eighteen. It is a distinctive and virtuosic work that allows each instrument to shine as a soloist while creating a dynamic musical fabric.
The well-known composer G. Kuprevičius' duet "Maži pokalbiai" (Small Talk) and F. Schubert's "Allegro" from Trio No. 1 will reveal the different characters of these three closely related instruments, while the enchanting timbre of the oboe will subtly resonate in F. Mendelssohn's 'Songs Without Words', originally written for piano and specially adapted for this ensemble.

RE:TURN is a project by the Magic of Music Club aimed at bringing young, professional Lithuanian musicians who currently live abroad or have recently returned to Lithuania into the cultural orbit of Vilnius. These are musicians who often have significant achievements in the international arena and are well known in other countries, but do not yet have enough opportunities to perform frequently in their homeland. This cycle aims to create conditions for them to take their rightful place among their colleagues in Lithuanian musical life and to gain recognition from music lovers in Vilnius.
