We invite you to an unforgettable musical journey where the worlds of Lithuanian literature and music intertwine. The programme is an opportunity to hear how the works of our most famous poets come to life in song.
This concert will feature poems by the most famous classics of Lithuanian literature - Salomeja Nėris, Vytautas Mačernis, Maironis, Justinas Marcinkevičius, Kazis Binkis, Janina Degutytė, and other poets - transformed into melodious and heart-warming songs, set to music by the nation's classical composers, Vl. Jakubėnas, J. Juozapaitis, V. Barkauskas, A. Belazaras, K.V. Banaitis, J. Gruodis.
The works will be performed by opera singer, soprano Dovilė Kazonaitė, and pianist Milda Umbrusevičiūtė. During the evening you will hear nostalgic and sensitive melodies as well as energetic and uplifting songs that reflect the beauty and richness of our culture and history.
On Sunday afternoons in the spring, at 16:00, in a cosy chamber hall, poetry will be read by the most famous Lithuanian readers, actors and poets themselves, accompanied by live music and a variety of interpretations. In addition to poetry readings, we will also enjoy singing events.
