The year 2026 marks a special anniversary – we celebrate the 100th birthday of trumpeter Miles Davis! That is why we are dedicating our first February listening session to him – one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, who boldly rewrote the rules of the genre on more than one occasion. A host of the most famous jazz musicians of the second half of the 20th century passed through his musical "forge."
His influence is felt not only in the world of jazz – throughout his career, Davis experimented and tried to incorporate elements of rock and funk into his music, collaborating with artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Sly and the Family Stone. Even today, popular performers such as Lenny Kravitz, The Allman Brothers Band, Carlos Santana, and Lana Del Rey draw inspiration from his work.
The listening program covers a 40-year period from 1958 to 1987.
