Dialogues of Sounds | Marius Kukšta and Žilvinas Šimkus

2025-12-10,  Wednesday — 19:00
  • The Magic of Music Club provides a stage for talented young performers – the stars of tomorrow! Accordionists Marius Kukšta and Žilvinas Šimkus are just such performers. This duo has won prizes at prestigious competitions on numerous occasions, including first place in Croatia in 2025. However, the most important thing during the concert will be the story that the musicians will tell through the sounds of their accordions!

The program features the precision of Baroque, the monumentality of classical music, and the boldness of contemporary music. The performers' own arrangements will reveal the rarely seen "faces" of the accordion! We will hear works by G. Holst, G. F. Handel, K. Hvoslef, W. Lutosławski, and W. Horowitz. Alongside them will be intriguing music by composers from the second half of the 20th century – works by J. Zorn, J. Ganzer, M. A. Hamelin, and J. ter Veldhuis.

  • Concert program:

    G. Holst - The Planets, Op. 32, "Mars, the Bringer of War"
