Latvians Deniss Pashkevich (saxophone, flute, synthesizers), Edvins Ozols (double bass), and Artis Orubs (drums)—three distinctive personalities coming together in a rare musical collaboration. Their project is a blend of spontaneity, the freedom of improvisation, and personal musical experiences.
The trio’s music weaves together rhythms of swing, funk, old-school jazz, world music, and rock, while the performers consciously avoid a commercial sound. The songs to be performed at the concert are from this year’s album Code of Ethics 2—a bold, avant-garde take on contemporary jazz, which the musicians themselves describe as a “radical invitation into the world of modern jazz.”

The trio has already garnered acclaim from international jazz critics:
“Deniss knows exactly what he’s aiming for in his music. Colors, textures, sounds—everything is crafted with taste and mastery. Listen closely to the atmosphere he creates—it’s exceptional and unique. A superb performance!” – David Liebman (jazz educator, saxophonist, composer)
“In a world where everything is often conveyed too bluntly, it’s wonderful to hear music that draws you in rather than pushing you away. Perfectly subtle. Deniss’s playing is sincere and full of nuance. The band has excellent chemistry and a mature presence. There isn’t a single unnecessary note here. Today, many recordings sound like they come from rehearsals or competitions, but your music is pure, authentic. A great pleasure to listen to. Congratulations.” - Jerry Bergonzi (saxophonist, composer, and educator)
“The sounds, rhythms, and musical structures created by this trio are unprecedented, and the experience lingers in the mind even after many listens. For those who, like me, strive to convey sound as accurately as possible, this is pure gold.” – Amedeo Schembri (audio equipment designer)
