Classical concerts are usually associated with auditoriums, a well-lit stage and a spectacular show. However, this time pianist Eglė Kižytė-Ramonienė and violinist Monika Urbonaitė invite you to experience classical music in a completely different and unusual way - in the dark.
Research shows that people receive most of their information by sight, but music has the power to spark the imagination, even when the environment is hidden in darkness. During the concert, listeners will experience music in a new way - without any visual distractions, allowing sounds to fill the space and imagination to create unique landscapes.
To make the experience even more interesting and cosy, the programme will be complemented by short stories about the works performed, the composers' inventiveness and the emotions evoked by the music. This will give you the opportunity not only to listen to the music, but also to better understand its subtleties. At the end of the concert, the lights will slowly come up in the hall and the audience will be able to get to know the environment in which the experience took place, and to talk to the performers.
This programme combines works from different eras and styles, including masterpieces from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods, including works by G.F. Telemann and G.F. Handel, the elegance of F. Kreisler, the Impressionism of Debussy, and the Romantic music of E. Elgar and C. Franck.
