We are used to associating the flute with tenderness and lyricism - it is a sound that enchants. But for this evening, the flute will have a different sound - powerful and expressive. The flute's vast possibilities will be revealed in a musical dialogue with the guitar, an instrument that contains both passion and warmth
This duo of two instruments was popular in the Baroque chamber spaces of the 18th century and now seems to be somewhat forgotten. However, its spirit is still kept alive today by Spanish and Italian composers who still compose for flute and guitar.
The concert will be full of Spanish spirit, virtuosity and elegance. Two talented musicians - flute player Dominyka Šeibok, who has recently returned from abroad, and Italian guitarist Arturo Mariotti - will perform a programme that combines elements of flamenco, Argentinian rhythms and tango. Dominyka is an extraordinary flautist, able to combine virtuosic, colourful and dynamic playing, movement and dance. Arthur's playing is highly expressive, and the musician himself enchants with his charisma, deep interpretations and explorations.
"This programme is very close to our hearts because of its vitality, and it also reveals our own characters. It is like an exciting, long-awaited journey - the bright colours and moods immediately draw you into the adventure", says Dominyka Šeibok.
