What links the Lithuanian musical genius M. K. Čiurlionis and the work of Raminta Šerkšnytė, who was born exactly 100 years later? How does the interplay of major and minor keys resonate in her music? How did her bachelor’s thesis, “De profundis” for string orchestra—which Maestro Gidon Kremer called “the calling card of Baltic music”—become one of her most frequently performed compositions worldwide? What mystical stories surround the creation of the opus “…and this too shall pass…”?

The Magic of Music Club invites you to a meeting with composer Raminta Šerkšnytė, featuring not only recordings of her works—some of which are extremely rare or have never been performed in Lithuania—but also the Vilnius premiere of her latest piece, “Etudes”! They will be performed by the talented, internationally acclaimed pianist Onutė Gražinytė.

The event will be moderated by musicologist Rasa Murauskaitė-Juškienė. We invite you to an evening filled with emotion, poetry, and mysticism in music!
