For 150 years, the work of M.K. Čiurlionis has influenced our cultural environment and led us towards the light. On the occasion of this anniversary, two internationally acclaimed guitarists invite you to a concert where the composer's work will be brought to life in a guitar duet, and at the same time, the musicians will present their new album “Between Heaven and Earth”.
Jurkus, who studied at the Conservatoire de musique et de la danse de Lille (France), is an active performer as a soloist and chamber musician, publishing and arranging, and his debut album “Blue Sand Pyramids” has been rated as one of the best Lithuanian music releases of 2023. Čiurlionis' piano works have been adapted for guitar, a project conceived and implemented by guitarist Rokas Jurkus. The musician has produced sheet music editions of the arrangements, which are now available to performers around the world.
Joining him on stage is guitarist Lovro Peretić (Croatia). In 2022, he was the winner of the most prestigious competition of the Guitar Foundation of America, an achievement that has opened the door to the international stage and has enabled him to perform a tour of almost 50 concerts in the USA and Canada. Today, Peretić is the winner of more than 30 international competitions and performs extensively around the world as a soloist and with the Croatian guitar trio Evocación.
