Tango In Jazz

2024-12-29,  Sekmadienis — 19:00
  • Tonight, we invite you to enjoy a virtuosic performance of expressive tango and jazz music that stirs the senses. The concert will feature arrangements of instrumental and vocal works by Astor Piazzolla, compositions by V. Danielius and jazz standards.

We invite you to enjoy good music, a good tango, a good glass of wine and good company during this beautiful Christmas period.

Dessert of the evening: a fiery dance performance by Vilnius Tango Theatre soloists.

    Performers:

Vytenis Danielius received his musical education in Lithuania, Italy, the Netherlands and Latvia. In his performances he subtly combines the sophistication of classical music with the vibrancy of jazz and the freedom of improvisation, and he actively performs in prestigious festivals in Lithuania and abroad. Danielius plays the exclusive "Beltuna Matrix" accordion, which creates an extraordinary depth of sound - like the magic of an acoustic orchestra flowing from one instrument.

Leonardas Bėkša is the head of the Jazz Department at the Vytautas Magnus University, Academy of Music, a versatile musician, composer and arranger. In concerts he can be seen not only at the piano, but also playing trumpet, saxophone, double bass and bass guitar. Leonardas is proficient in jazz and classical genres, as well as in rock, pop, folk, sacred music, singing poetry, theatre, electronic music and music production.

Concert guest – Austėja Guiskytė – vocalist and songwriter. Austeja says of herself "I think I was born with music inside me, I always heard people singing first, instruments. Since I was a little girl, I chose music to express any emotion, and I started to connect my future with music at school, when I started to perform more actively and participate in social events."

  • Door opens from 18:30.
