Dalia Dėdinskaitė, one of the country's most prominent violinists, together with Walter Delahunt, a renowned, internationally acclaimed pianist who has performed with such artists as Marta Argerich and Gidon Kremer, presents the programme "From Lazdijai to Hollywood", which includes a performance by the Vilnius-born, the most famous violinist of all time, Jascha Heifetz, with his colourful arrangements for violin and piano, works for violin and piano by the Lazdijai-born, violin prodigy and internationally acclaimed composer Joseph Achron, and the famous Lithuanian composer Anatoly Shenderov, the 5th anniversary of whose death this year.
The interesting and colourful programme of miniatures highlights the parallels between the art and life of the legendary personalities of the violin performance of J. Heifetz and J. Achron, the importance of the work of A. Shenderov, and the "musical touch" of today's most outstanding performers to the work of three personalities with Litvak roots.
