Music and Poetry

Poems between notes

2025-05-04,  Sekmadienis — 16:00
  • Poet Julius Keleras will read his poems - deep, sensual, sometimes unexpectedly ironic, touching on the themes of being, love, time and meaning. His poetry is not only texts, but also living, breathing images that invite you to stop and listen.

kur vaiko šešėlis basas atsargiai per skersgatvį brenda
sulėtintam filme: štai matos, kaip vėjas praveria langą
Pylimo gatvėj ir skrenda popieriaus lapas, lig apačios
aklinai prirašytas, ražais, išeini į kiemą, o upės vienodas
    ratas tas pats, ačiū Dievui:

    rytas
    Julius Keleras

The musical background for the evening will be provided by multi-instrumentalist Skirmantas Sasnauskas - a master of jazz improvisation who is able to combine different musical worlds in unexpected ways. His playing of the trombone, and perhaps other instruments, will add a distinctive mood to each poem, allowing poetry to take on new sonic shades.

This will not be just a reading or a concert - it will be a lively dialogue between music and words, between creators and audience. It is an evening in which every note and every word will merge into a unique experience that will be heard only here and now.

On Sunday afternoons at 16:00 in the cosy chamber hall, poetry is read by the most famous Lithuanian readers, actors and poets themselves, accompanied by live music in a variety of interpretations. In addition to poetry readings, we also enjoy sung poetry events.

  • Renginio trukmė: 60 min.
